Terms of service
Last updated September 2026
theywillcome.online (“the portal”, “we”, “us”) is a staging and editing home for websites built for clients as freelance projects. These terms apply to everyone who signs in to the portal, edits a site through it, or publishes a site from it. By signing in you agree to them.
1. What the portal is
The portal gives each client a private preview of their website while it is being built, a content editor for changing its words and images, and tools for choosing its appearance, attaching a domain and, where a site's template supports it, switching on ticket sales. Sites are hosted on Cloudflare Pages and their source is kept in a private GitHub repository created for the client.
This is a working tool for projects in progress, not a general hosting service. Features can change, and we may add, alter or retire parts of the portal as the projects it serves evolve.
2. Signing in and your account
- You sign in with the GitHub account you were invited with, or with a one-time link sent to your email address. There is no password to keep, so the security of your GitHub account and your inbox is the security of your site: keep them safe and tell us at once if you think either has been compromised.
- Sign-in links work once and expire quickly. Do not forward them.
- You may only access the sites you have been given access to. Trying to reach another client's site, content or settings is a breach of these terms and will end your access.
- You are responsible for everything done through your sign-in, including by anyone you let use it.
3. Your content
The words, images and other material you add to your site are yours. You give us permission to store, process and display that content so we can build, host, preview and publish your site, and to keep its history so changes can be undone. That permission ends when your site is removed from the portal, except for backups that expire in the normal course.
You are responsible for your content. Make sure you have the right to use everything you upload, that nothing on your site is unlawful, deceptive or infringing, and that anything you sell is accurately described. We may remove content or suspend a site that we reasonably believe breaks these rules or the law, and will tell you when we do.
4. Selling on your site
Some templates let a site sell tickets or products. When you switch this on:
- You are the seller. Payments go to your own Stripe, Square or PayPal account under your agreement with that provider. We are not a party to any sale, do not hold funds, and do not take a share of them.
- Your keys. The provider keys you enter are stored as encrypted environment variables on your site's Cloudflare project so that your site can talk to your provider. The portal does not keep a copy and cannot show them back to you. Use restricted or sandbox keys while testing.
- Your obligations. Pricing, taxes, refunds, cancellations, receipts, consumer law and your provider's rules are your responsibility. Each template ships a terms-of-service page for your visitors as a starting point; read it and change anything that does not match how you actually trade.
- Limits. Checkout on each site is rate-limited to deter abuse. A genuine rush of buyers can occasionally be asked to wait a few minutes.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the portal or a site built through it to break the law, to harm or deceive anyone, to send spam, to distribute malware, to interfere with the portal, other clients' sites or the services behind them, or to probe for weaknesses without our written agreement. Do not attempt to get around rate limits or access controls.
6. Services we rely on
The portal runs on GitHub (source and history), Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, email delivery and bot protection) and, where you use them, your payment provider. Each has its own terms and privacy policy, and each may be unavailable from time to time for reasons outside our control.
7. Your information
To run the portal we process your GitHub username or email address, a session cookie that keeps you signed in, the names of your sites and their settings, and the content you add. Technical data such as IP addresses is processed by Cloudflare to serve the portal and to protect it from abuse; the email sign-in form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for the same reason. We do not sell your information and do not run advertising trackers. Ask us if you want to know what we hold about you or want it deleted.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the portal available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may take it down for maintenance. Sites are published to Cloudflare Pages, which continues to serve a published site independently of the portal being up.
9. Ending access
You can stop using the portal at any time and ask us to remove your site. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the project your site belongs to ends, or if we stop running the portal, and will give you reasonable notice and a copy of your content where we can.
10. Liability
The portal is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of the portal or a site built through it, from the acts of a service we rely on, or from sales made through your site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the portal changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed; continuing to use the portal after a change means you accept the new terms.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms, your account or your site: reply to any email you have received from They Will Come, or get in touch with the person who set up your project.
